TORONTO - Jason Allison did his part to help Toronto's playoff hopes.Allison scored twice and had an assist, and the Maple Leafs beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 5-1 on Saturday night in a game featuring two desperate teams.







Mighty Ducks Keep Pace in West With Win

GLENDALE, Ariz. - Rob Niedermayer's scoring slump ended in style.Niedermayer scored his first two goals since Dec. 18 and the Anaheim Mighty Ducks beat the Phoenix Coyotes 5-3 Saturday night to gain ground in the Western Conference playoff race.







Garon Excels in Net As Kings Top Blues

ST. LOUIS - Luc Robitaille has picked up lots of experience in scoring 667 NHL goals. He put it to good use against the St. Louis Blues. The Los Angeles Kings forward tapped into his knowledge of goalie Patrick Lalime and took advantage, scoring the only goal in the shootout that gave the Kings a 2-1 victory Saturday night.






Yzerman Helps Red Wings Top Blackhawks

DETROIT - Steve Yzerman turned back the clock on Saturday night. He scored twice, and the Detroit Red Wings had three goals in each of the first two periods of a 6-4 victory against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Stars' Modano Single-Handedly Tops Canucks

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - Mike Modano found the net from a seemingly impossible angle. He wasn't sure how, but it really didn't matter. Modano tied the game with his high degree of difficulty shot 5 minutes into the third period and then netted the winner with 5 minutes left as the Dallas Stars rallied to beat the Vancouver Canucks 2-1 on Saturday night.
